Wendy Whelan is Coming to Town!
BALLET PALM BEACH TO HOST MASTER CLASS WITH BALLET STAR WENDY WHELAN, FORMER NEW YORK CITY BALLET PRINCIPAL AND SUBJECT OF HIT FILM “RESTLESS CREATURE”
November 3, 2017 (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) – Ballet Palm Beach, the professional ballet company of the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast, founded by Colleen Smith, will host a master class by Wendy Whelan, former NYC Ballet principal dancer and star of “Restless Creature,” the documentary of her life, currently being held over at theaters across the country and available on Netflix. The class will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018, at 5 p.m. at the studios of Ballet Palm Beach at 10357 Ironwood Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, 33410. The cost for the class is $25 per dancer. Reservations may be made by phoning the studio at (561) 630-8235 and providing credit card payment information. The class is for advanced students and professionals ages 15 and up.
Earlier in the day, Ms. Whelan will be the guest of Steven Caras, a Balanchine protégé and NYCB alumnus (and an advisor to Ballet Palm Beach) at an ArtSmart Lunch & Learn event at The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Caras, who co-chairs the series, will show excerpts of the movie during a revealing conversation with Whelan, one of the world’s most celebrated dance stars.
